Lighting Load Calculations
posted 12:59 AM Tuesday, November 11, 2008 by jgalamb2
The total lighting load (for general lighting) has been calculated and updated to the wiki. This calculation compares the use of LED bulbs to CFL bulbs. It has been noted that LED bulbs use roughly 2/3 the amount of light as their CFL (lumen) equivalent. This noted, we have decided go forward with the use of LED bulbs for the general lighting throughout the house.
The (general) lighting load for the competition has been calculated and also uploaded to the wiki. Once all the other sub-teams have determined their specific load, adjustments can be made accordingly to balance the energy.
